Employer Branding Without a Marketing Team: What Small Employers Can Control
Most employer brand advice assumes a marketing department. It assumes one person owns the careers page, someone else runs the social accounts, and a third signs off the photography. In the businesses where most people actually work, the same person does all three, usually between payroll runs. Department for Business and Trade figures put SME employment at 16.9 million, around 60% of the private sector, which makes the resource-poor employer the normal case rather than the exception. Advice written for the exception does not transfer.
